Creating folder on desktop creates error

Not sure what's causing this or any way of fixing it...

Everytime I create a new folder on my desktop and then type in a folder name, it gives me an error,

"Renaming, moving or deleting 'New Folder' could make some programs not work. Are you sure you want to do this?"

It only happens on the desktop and only with newly created folders. WinXP Pro, BTW.

what was the last thing you installed?

might not be the same problem but i've seen the same error with an msi that messed up creating shortcuts on the all users desktop.

Yeah, sounds like some program's installer has marked your desktop folder as critical to its operation....

Hmmm... well if it's anything, it's the fuctard Logitech webcam driver I installed a few weeks ago. It caused all sorts of problems, my computer wouldn't boot (had to boot into safe mode and go back to a restore point) and it keeps trying to kill Windows firewall.

You'd figure they would do a smidget of software testing. Bloody thing's worse than any virus I had ever encountered!

But that was 2 weeks ago and I haven't noticed this problem until now. I haven't installed anything else.
