So who watched the SG-1 finale?

*SPOILER*
Why didnt they spend a day or so regenerating the shields so they could take the hit?

Both of the existing stargate series are pretty wank IMO.

i agree it started getting weaker in SG1, but i think season 10 was great, Id suggest watching it if you used to like SG1

Atlantis ... Well i just watch that cause its part of the stargate universe. Its not bad but im a little resentful cause i think its pretty much how the 200th episode of SG1 was with wormhole Xtreme or whatever the TV show was. Basicly " new fresh younger hip cast" with the same scenerio.

Word on the street though is richard dean anderson has been trying to get a hold of the show creators the last few weeks, im sure that he has and im sure its to do something with the shows again. I think he was awesome in that show, his best role ever. Not that the farscape duo isnt good though.

Didnt they not have enough energy? I cant remember. I might have to watch it again.

I wanna know why sky one gets it and sci fi is waiting. I used to love the sci fi channel but now they are too successful i think and making sloppy choices. SG1 still has a lot of life left. If you ask me its the star trek of our time.

I like Stargate, but I'm worried that the "Stargate Universe" is just an advertising gimmick to plug their upcoming videogame of the same name.

Stargate. :olo:

Who the fuck thought it was a good idea to take a lame movie and base a lamer television series on it?

What a fag.

Stargate really pisses me off. Its no where near as good as Farscape and yet Stargate gets 13 seasons while Farscape is cancelled after 4 with the fifth season turned into a movie. And it wasn't that Farscape was failing, it just wasn't able to bring in enough new viewers to the channel.

I tried to start watching it once Ben Browder and Claudia Black (John and Aeryn) joined the cast but even they couldn't make it interesting to me.

That's the problem with the new shows which require the viewers to follow them religiously (Lost, BSG, Heroes, 24, etc...)

Once the ratings go down they'll never go up again.

A shame, really, because the traditional shows with self-contained episodes have become incredibly repetitive. This goes especially for science-fiction shows. How many "protagonist in alien prison", "shapeshifter/imposter", "protagonist undercover", "protagonist gone crazy", etc episodes have we seen? A billion.

I wish people would actually follow the serial shows even more religiously so we never have to go through that bullshit again.

I've been spoiled by story arc based quality shows like Battlestar Galactica and Heroes, so I can't watch one-off episode shows like SG anymore. They just endlessly repeat the episode blueprints that's been around ever since the original Star Trek series, and used over and over again by every single sci-fi series since.

But at the same time those shows are hard to get into. I want to watch Battlestar but I refuse to do so until I can start at 1-1 and go forward.

Thanks, I was just about to ask that. I've got mini-series, 1, 2.0, and 2.5 in my BB queue.

I sort of got into Atlantis for a little while, but that got not-so-good fast too.
