Most 3d application packages will do so. I use 3ds MAX, but for free, you can use Blender

And here's a Blender tutorial to do the basics of what you want:

Off topic i know but is it within you're capabilitys to Incorporate racing into this mod. Also upon playing it i thought wouldnt this mod be great if you could just roll around 'as a ball' with a guantlet. It would be great if yoou could add the gauntlet idea as a gametype or mini feature of he mod (i for one would have to have a server set up for that.)

Thx for you idea, but first i would make the ball leave just a ball.

I release the source later an everybody can change it.

I am not so a good coder, but i keep this idea in my mind.

thx

hey...a lil while back I mentioned that you needed maps that had more of a ball type theme to them. I'd honestly trash the lego textures...just doesn't look right...well, to me at least.
I thought I'd mention a thought I had...since I was digging through my closet today. I found this old game I have which is called a Ball Labrinth. To play it you have two dials(or rollers)where you have to balance the ball as you work your way to the end of the labrinth...which is kind of like a maze. You have to avoid falling in all of the holes while going through the maze. It's actually a pretty tough game to get used to at first.
I checked out the last video you had popped up, and it's the same exact concept...yet the floor can't obviously tip back and forth. The aim is don't fall....well,

As far as an environment, I'd suggest making it more of a game style environment with looks, and stay away from the normal looks(textures) that 99% of the custom maps use in Q3. Also make each map follow the name of the mod. Some time back someone made a Q3Hockey, and all of the maps were rinks. That kind of concept.. If the mod is set up right like that, I think alot of people would take some interest in it.

..just a thought
