nVidia drivers

I have a Dell inspiron 8200 with nVidia gforce 440 go card.
when i try to install updated drivers i get a message that says "no compatible drivers found"
I am running on the stock windows xp drivers. also I have no floppy drive...

you need drivers from dells site.

Note: you can force nvidias own drivers to install by editing the .inf file for the driver. Google for the technique.
However unless there's a serious problem with the ones Dell are pushing, don't bother.

I use 100.x set now on my geforce go from

well I was all excited to install the latest drivers only to have my computer show a garbled BSOD and reboot continuously. thank goodness for system restore!
The OEM dell drivers don't have any options, I mean like nothing. I remember before I upgraded my hdd there were lots of options under the video settings...
I guess I will try and older version from the recommended site! Thanks

also you can give the Omega drivers a go, they will work with the mobile videocards, again, you will get mixed reviews but that is what i've done when i have needed to update shotty drivers.

well, I tried them again and same result except this time after the system restored, I now have a nVidia control panel =\
getting closer!
will try omegas next... :icon14:

Wooohoo!!! the Omegas installed and work.
I've used omega for my radeon before but I didn't think of them for this :icon32: Thanks for the suggestions :icon14:

good to hear you got it working mang,
Omega's are usually a little pokey to get updates from, but who cares?
