I just got my M1 Class license yesterday. So I can officially drive a motorcycle.
Does anyone here own a motorcycle, and what type?
I am buying myself a new Honda CBR 125 R

It is going to cost me $3,500 new. Not bad at all. Insurance is about $180/month

Insurance seems a little high for that bike.
I'm thinking about getting mine sometime soon.
Thinking about going through one of those schools so I can save on insurance.

Hey it's my first bike, I am getting this one because it has easy handling and is very forgiving. It is perfect for driving around. It's extremely affordable and has the looks. It wont brake down. Perfect entry level bike.
I don't need a 250km/h crotch rocket. Where the fuck am I going to do 250? Probably kill myself too.

I hope you're a small guy, because you're going to look ridiculous on a 125 'super-sport'.

Turbine, look I know I flame you all the time and give you shit, but just listen to me. Buying a bike is a serious business (just like the internet) and it's good to see that you're looking at a small displacement bike.
Believe me when I say (because I'm completely serious) from one rider to another, that I hope on your ride home from the dealership on your new scoot that you get hit by a bus and killed.

don't get such a small bike you'll outgrow it within a week I promise you. go for at least a 500+ you might be a little scared of it for a few days but then you'll thank me.

Unless you're a complete fag you're going to regret buying that bike 1 month after buying it when you realise how patheticly gutless it is. At the very least get a 250.
It's not about the top speed a bike can do, it's all about the acceleration. Even on a 250 you need to ring the neck out of it to get any form of power, but a 125? What a fucking joke. You're about to make a huge n00b mistake.

Get a used 500ish bike. If possible, one without so much plastic paneling. Odds are, your going to dump it a couple times in a parking lot. After you've been riding for a year or so, Then get something shiny and new.
Do not get that tiny 125. That's a toy for children. The MSF doesn't even train newbies on bikes that small.
$180/month wtf?

My first bike was a Yamaha SR 500. Great sturdy bike for a noob and makes a lot of fun to drive (and has a way better sound than a 125)...

Honda VTR 250 is the best n00b's bike. Good value for money plus it's pretty naked so fuck all to replace when dropped.
