APC UPS Trouble

I just purchased an APC Back-UPS ES 750 for my home computer. The battery is awesome and lasts longer then I would have expected. Definately beats my old Belkin. I have it set to shutdown after 5 minutes of continual power loss. So I run my self test (unplug from wall) and it works perfectly, battery uses about 25% of its power for the 5 minutes. Then I plug the UPS back in and start my computer back up. It gets to the log on screen and dies, tower and monitor. The monitor comes back on but the computer must be put on surge protection only, booted, shut down and then back on UPS before it will boot off of the UPS circuit. Anyone know what might cause this or what to do about it?

Well I waited 5 or 7 minutes and it booted without crashing, I did however have to remove and replug my USB mouse. It is just strange that it wold boot and then crash on AC power. I guess it is alright though.
