Floating BFG in sky in Demon Keep QA3

Does anybody know how to get to the floating BFG, rotating way up high 'outside' above the lava in Demon Keep? I presume I have to bounce off the floating 'target' somehow, but how do I do this? Also, how do I get the red armour on top of the building? I have an idea these may be connected. Any info much appreciated, thanks.
