I'm thinking about buying one up on Friday.
Might also purchase Forza 2 and TDU.
Anybody play TDU? Just wondering what you think about it.

I'd play the demo for test drive first - some people liked it, some (like me) hated it.

It's a neat console, but there's only a few really must buy games for it

So what made you hate it?

Driving model was shitty. Forza's driving model is awesome, just a shame the graphics are a bit of a letdown.

Crackdown, Dead Rising and Oblivion (if you don't own a PC) are great, a lot of the rest are pretty good-but-not-amazing like Lost Planet and Gears of Hype

I like racing games. I have Forza for the xbox, but never really got into it.

Rainbow Six Vegas is awesome, as are Gears of War and Crackdown.

Forza 2 is great if you into simulation driving games and don't mind graphics that look a bit meh.

And yes, buy a 360.

Not sure if I can play FPS games with a controller.
I'm too use to the keyboard/mouse.

Converting from mouse and kbd to controller was a pain in the ass, but I had allot of friends that played Halo2 so I stuck it out, now over 2 years and 1 xbox revision later I prefer the 360 for all my gaming needs and have fully adapted to the controller way of life.

I am now converting my dad to the 360.

TDU demo was crap, the actual game however is allot of fun. I logged over 40 hours in a few weeks, racing and having a good old time in the cool constant multi player environment. The cars and racing are NOT Simulation like Forza, they are a little more real to life then Burnout, but still arcadeish. The fun is going to your next race and running into someone else online in the mood to show off.

Flash the high beams, set the bet and course and you're off. I haven't played for a while due to my busy schedule and Gears of War :)

So you can play single player online???
After watching the clip of it, it kinda reminds me of the first NFS game. The whole dodging oncoming vehicles is a lot of fun. I'd really like to play the first NFS again.

well sir

if you're looking to buy a console no matter what then the 360 is the beeeezneeeez.

forza 2 is fun but graphics suck.
dirt looks promising. plays a lot more arcady than forza so you may like or dislike that. graphics and sound are loads better though. plus the menu design is just fucking sexy. no joke, i'm buying dirt purely for the menu design. i'm an art whore like that :p

gears and crackdown are the shit, and its controls are also built for a pad. so it works

although, tactical shooters like GRAW also work great on console, since again its optimized for the pad and not for kb/mouse

if you're in it for the racing games why think about a 360??
do what every other race-sim fan is doing... get GTR on the PC and wait for GT5 to pick up a ps3.

and IIRC they made TDU for the PC as well.

When you go into a single player race, I'm guessing it takes you offline?

Well, No game "takes you offline" really.

What i mean is, Your "always" on live. Its just if your playing something SP nobody will be with you thats actually another person. But you can still get game invites, chat invites, messages, etc.

Well that's really what I meant.
The fact that when you do a single player race, that you wouldn't have online players getting in the way.

DID YOU REALLY HEAR THAT? In the last two years, this videogame forum has never seen anything about that freezing or crashing or any other hardware issues. Thanks for keeping us informed.
