Hi,

I bought a new MSI FX5200 AGP 128meg video card today, it installed fine then went to MSI to get current drivers, did that, did Windows update, when opening Q3 v1.32 the screen goes black all that works is the mouse pointer and the speakers go DING. Un/resinstalled Q3 and 1.32 update, rebooted when asked to.

End tasked Q3 and found an error box with nothing on it but OK, hit ok then another error popped up: "grSstSelect non exsistent SST".

MSI's website said that this video card won't do GLIDE but I have seen reviews online from people that have run Q3 with this card. Previous card I played Q3 with on this PC was an MX400 64meg but it died.

Cannot figure this out, anyone have any suggestions?

Never mind, I was able to get it to start, had to rename "glide2x.dll" to something else, and moved the file "OPENGL32.DLL" from the C:\Windows\System32\ folder into the C:\Program Files\Quake3\ folder, it started after that but is really dark.

Gamma setting somewhere, FX400 card had the same problem.

Pull down the console (the tilde) and type "/r_gamma x", where x is 1.1 or higher. "/r_ignorehwgamma x" (0 or 1) might help as well.

Heh, turned out to be nothing more than the brightness was defaulted to very dark, its fine now.

Thanks for the gamma command, I might need it someday.
