First, the computer screen goes blank and then clicks back on and clicks off, etc. Sometimes when the screen comes on the image kind of jolts from side to side a bit. Then I wont get any screen at all after reboot. Then moitor light stays solid green but the screen stays black.
Blue screen error message is this :
0x00000009c (0x00000000, 0x8054d570, 0xr2000000, 0x1020080f) In the second to last batch of digits the third letter might be a B....its hard to see as the screen is all fuzzy.
I cant find anything on this message.
Windows XP home, SP2.

right click on My Computer>Manage>expand Event Viewer and check both Applications and System for errors and post them here. only post the ones for that date, or better yet, closest to the time of the BSOD.

Cant boot anymore. Just get the blue screen right away, wven if safe mode.
This time I could see the error code better and it is:
0x00000009c (0x00000000, 0x8054D570, 0xB2000000, 0x1040080f)
Second reboot after the blue screen just now and the screen just stays black.
I will try again later to see if i can get to event viewer

Smells a bit like a graphics card failure but there's a lot of things to rule out before you can be sure.
Unless you happen to have or can temporarily obtain a replacement graphics card and see if it works after swapping.
If it does, it's the card or its drivers for sure. If not, then at least its ruled out.

Do you have a spare machine to make a winxp boot cd? I would try booting with that and see if you can boot ok. If it's ok then perhaps you need to format your installed copy of xp.

Got it up and here is what is says.
First, it had a ATI video card and I took it out and used the onboard video and does the same thing. It is a Gigabyte motherboard.
Event Viewer....SYSTEM

Par 1 00000000
Par 2 8054d570
Par 3 b2000000
Par 4 1020080f
System Error
Category 102
Event ID 1003

I think it's the graphics driver. Try pulling out the ATI driver and see if that fixes it, then install the latest version again and see if it stays stable.
Failing that it could be bad RAM, but based on that event id and category I think its the driver.

Took out the ATI drivers and reistalled the drivers for the onboard video. Seemed to work for a while, but after a couple of hours[about 3 I think] the screen started getting wavy lines through it and the mouse and keyboard frooze up.

Replaced the RAM and it seemed to work fine for a day. I ran memtest with the new Ram and defrags, etc. Everything was fine.
I just ran another memtest for the heck of it, and after about 10 minutes the screen was all fuzzy with lines running throug it.
Not much left except the motherboard I gues.
