That's pretty fucking impressive, although the vid's quality isn't enough to see the effects properly.

Is the whole vid done in real time?

Yeah, the vid quality is a bit low. I'm guessing this is a real time comercial grade flight sim.
A client I did work for had a flight simulator for when pilots interviewed for jobs. Probably something on this scale.

we might see games on that scale in what, 7 years maybe?

24XFSAA would be incredible at 2048X rez.

At what point does increasing FSAA become pointless? I mean surley after a point, it just blurrs the image out of recognition or the image isn't as sharp as normal?

We're talking about anti-aliasing here? Depends on the resolution, but usually 4 to 8x does the job more than well.

FSAA doesn't work like that.

Imagine taking an image 4 times as big as your screen, then resizing it in photoshop so that it fits in your screen.

That's kinda how FSAA works.

The higher you go with FSAA, the larger source information you're working with. It adds to the quality, not detracts from it.
