Anyone know why Motorola Phone Tools won't detect my phone? I have a RAZR V3m, I've installed the USB drivers on my WinXP SP2 laptop so it charges now, but it's still not being detected. :icon33:

Are you using the latest version of phone tools? My old V3 had issues until I updated the software to the latest version.

What was the problem?

Needed different drivers, plus a few config tweaks. It's a right pain in the ass, and I've found that if I restart the PC I have to manually configure the phone again when I connect it. Fortunately this won't be anything I use that often, but talk about fucking kloogy.

I don't get mobile phone software. Without exception every kind I've used has been hacked together shite. Same goes for PDA software e.g. ActiveSync... all total shit and horribly frail.

hmm.. thats odd. I didn't have a whiff of problems with Moto Phone tools and either of the V3's we own.
though this reminds me i need to get around to hacking some games onto it.

hacktherazr.com has many good things to offer you. What sort of battery life are you getting?

2 years ago it was really good... > 3 days idle and i'm not sure about talk time since i was never on a call long enough to make it start chiping.
but lately my battery life has been getting pretty weak. only ~2h talk time and i have to charge it every day or it will shut off on day 2.
that really hasn't been bothering me though... my only "complaint" is that the internal antenna seems to have lost its ability to find signal in 1/2 my apartment. (both phones)
