Hi!

I have been to this forum before with another nick, which I don´t remember so I did a new register. How ever I think you guys are more skilled to make cfg´s than other forums (I hope :icon28: ).

I´m running a warsow server which has similiar configs like a Q3 server. The server is behind a router so the server have a 192.168.x.x number and the game port is sat to 44400 in the cfg, I believe it´s the default port number in WSW. When I connect to my server from the Inet side the server got my ISP ip number (which is the normal thing) and the port got a various port number each day, for example now it got port 61025.

How do I do in the router to configure it to give it just 1 port number...like 60000?

Hope for help!

/X.

turn on DMZ
This will enable your router to be visible to the internet.

You may have to turn on Port Triggering to open certain ports to the internet.

Read up on your routers capabilities to allow opening up ports to the internet.

Setup your router to forward the port you want to use to your server.

Why would he need to turn on the DMZ and lose any protection his router gives when forwarding a couple ports would work just as well?!

answer, you don't. too many people around here just love to turn on DMZ without thinking about security risks.

Eh, lots of people run USB ADSL modems. DMZ isn't any worse.
