Well for nVIDIA I'd go with the 8800GTS, there are two versions, maybe even three, difference being the amount of RAM. Lower end prolly the 7900 series. Can't offer any advice on ATI, dont' keep up with them much.

8800GTS 320MB seems to provide the best bang for the buck. I've got my eye on the bastard
