Hi,
As my subject suggests, I want to know whether I can control where I spawn inside a map after I die?
Thanks!

Yes, get yourself killed at certain locations and you have a reasonable chance to spawn at the point you want

it's true. the place where you get fragged determines which spawnpoints you could spawn into.

No, not excactly. As I said, if you die at a very specific location, you would have say a 33-50% chance to spawn at the spawnpoint you want.
IIRC, the spawnpoint logic was the place had to be one of the farther spawnpoints and then it randomly picks one. It is possible to predict with some certainty where you will spawn though, with experience.

really? well, in dm17, when you die on the left side of the map... you spawn on the right, same goes for the opposite, 100% chance. (it goes totally random though if you fall in the void). i don't know much about spawning points on other maps tho

Well, in one of the other threads I read something about "spawn killing", what was that about, I know I should probably be replying to that thread, but cant seem to find that one!!

well all spawn points are fixed. so if you've figured out some spawnpoints with high probability of spawning, you spam into them.

so, thats why I ask, HOW???

For example, I play q3dm7 lots, I want to spawn exactly where the rocket launcher is, now HOWWWWW do i do that????

i wouldn't trouble yourself about that, that would mean you'd have to control where you die :icon27: . you're better off trying to kill the other in a certain place, so you can spawnrape him.
but you could always try eh, i don't think there are any tuts on spawning tho.. you'd have to find out for yourself.

spawn killing is just that,
you frag a player as he spawns,if you play q3 enough you get to know where on certain maps the player will spawn, like someone said earlier on dm17 if he dies on the right he'll spawn on the left, tis just prac and experience with the other maps

Well, I have played a lot of q3 too, what i observed was that where u spawn is not only dependant on where u die, but also when u die, it just seemed too random to me, thats y the question...I wanted to know about the q3dm7 spawning, not q3dm17!!! GUess, got to observe a bit more!!

I did have the full version with me, but then system crashed!! (damn WINDOWS!!

) and cd broke, so got stuck with the demo since the past 1 year, full version is a lot more fun. I am from India, ping time is very bad, so I just stick to single player games or a few friendly LAN games with friends....looking for some serious competition in the near future!!!

Not quite. In VQ3 FFA and tourney, you're spawned in at the spawn point that's farthest away from other players. It's a bit different in team games.

In IU dm17, people spawn in random locations, but in osp 75% of the time it spawns you the farthest away from your opponents.

hmm im definitely sure im definitely right. the only time it doesnt apply is if you're falling in the void, are at the railgun or too high (dont know that one for sure). but im 100% positive that if you die on say the left side of the map on the 1st, 2nd or 3rd level... you spawn on one of the right side spawnpoints
