I wonder if at the end it just cuts to him sitting in a padded room, in a straight-jacket, dribbling and staring blankly into space. Total silence save for the sound for the occasional "pat" sound of drool falling from his lip onto his lap.

A bit dark maybe but I'd laugh like fuck.
