played it a few times today. it's good. but that already annoying missed-note-screech is now way more annoying. oh and i don't like how you only see the guitarist like 3 times an entire song. animations are stale too.

preordered... i dont have a guitar for 360, so i have been polishing the skills with 80's edition. I'm on the last stage on expert and have only beat Police Truck. I think that's as far as I'm going to be able to go. Maybe Seventeen and Electric Eye too, but definitly not tonight.
Can't wait for 3!!!!

You can turn the sound effects off in GH2. I imagine the same goes for GH3 (well, maybe not in the demo).

Play With Me is the only challenging song in Guitar Hero: Rocks the 80's for me. I only just recently managed to beat and 4-star
Jordan in Guitar Hero II. Now THAT is a tough song...

Its very shitty.
GH2 was awesome, and i found it tough as shit. Why am I beating the demo on expert with zero effort?
Rock Band is where its at this year folks I reckon. It just screams "new/fresh/sexy" to me... GH3 just screams "Hey, its me again!!"...

The Metal fucking pwns. It's too bad I 5-starred it on the second attempt. I want mroe songs that will kick my ass.

They made the window of opportunity to hit a note larger, so it's easier to pull off HOPOs. I think it was perfect in GH2, personally, but I've been playing GH2 so long I may just be used to it. Hopefully they'll have tweaked it back a bit in the final product.

The point is Transient, Rock Band is by the people that made GH1 and 2. They know the series needs something new, and they did that. Its different, its fresh, and its exactly how GH3 should be. Remember Rock Band is GH3 is all but name.
The real GH3 on the other hand screams of stale shit. Its the same, but with new songs. Wow. I can do that on GH1 and 2 with a modded PS2. Oh and net play, which is an obvious addition. But its just that, more of the same.
I'm looking at GH3 being this years Fifa. Its the same as last year, just with an updated player list.

All I wanted were more songs.

Then you kinda fucked up, because you could of just bought GH2 for cheap and added ANY song you wanted.

I'd rather get my songs through playtested and unhacked/unmodded channels. These guys are paid to make the songs play fairly and accurately, unlike some 17 year old in his basement toying with songs after he finishes his History homework. I'm not cheap, I'll pay for the higher quality.
By the way, it's "could have".

Spelling flame -1 point.
You do know there are entire communities that are dedicated to making custom songs and tabs for GH2, right? They even have GH1 and 2 songs to use that are much better than the original versions on the disk.
I can see your point, however. But if you are going to pay a lot of money for exactly the same thing, it seems a bit of a waste. Why not buy Rock Band, and get the better product AND the new songs?
Or is this one of those Football Manager things? Where the company moves, renames the product, and carries on, but you buy the new version thats not made by the old team just because its got the same name as before...?

Make no mistake, I will be buying Rock Band and Guitar Hero III, plus every downloadable track pack that is released for both games. I already have for GH2 so far.

There's still hope for a challenge in this game:

Every downloadable pack...? Fuck that. If they haven't changed the prices from last time, I doubt I will. It was a rip off online

Grammar. It's like a spelling flame, but more legit since it makes the offender seem dumber.

It's not really a spelling flame when we've told you about a hundred times how to spell it correctly. It just means you're dense.
Also, Transient can like whatever game he wants to for whatever reason he wants to.

LOL what happened to this thread...
I like how almost all the songs are the master tracks, not some shitty cover
