remote access within a LAN

I have a PC in another room which I wish to use only for torrent/soulseek downloads. I want to be able to make it download from my other 3 PCs that are on the same LAN. I do NOT want anyone outside of my LAN connecting to the PC. Is remote desktop secure enough for such things? As I dont really need access from any PC outside of my LAN is there something more suitable?

Remote desktop is the simplest way to go.
Change the windows firewall setting for remote desktop to 'lan only' if you want some extra peace of mind. Having said that, as long as the administrator password on the machine is strong, it should be fine.
