Problem with Brightness and Mouse sensitivity.

Hi, I post now m9y 1st problem. (I'm making a new topic for people who want to search, I've searched too but nothing for me...)
When I've launched the game for the 1st time, during the ID Software's video, the brightness shut down suddenly.
So I've put the brightness up in my settings, but if I launch the game again : the brightness shut down again, it's pretty bad to change my brightness each time I want to play...
Also, I've a problem with my mouse sensitivity : she's decreasing... and I have to do 3cm for do a little distance, (about 10/15pxl) or a big movement for make it increase, and this is starting again... I don't know if I'm comprehensible : It's like the opposite of "mouse acceleration", mouse "deceleration" ?
This is strange... =/ And this problem doesn't happen when I'm playing, it's just for the menu.
The mouse that I use is a G9 (logitech) (a friend gave me it).
I searched with the tool but I didn't find the solution for my 2 problems... =/

for the first problem, create a textfile called autoexec.cfg in the baseq3 directory and add
r_gamma 1.3
now this brightness gets used everytime you start quake. you'd have to test some different values to get it more to your liking. the higher the number the brighter (e.g. 1.4, 1.6 or maybe even 2.0).
second problem, i dont know. try turning off mouse accel in windows.

have you downloaded the latest drivers for the G9 ?
or did you just whack it into the port and away you went.
are you on vista or xp?

My mouse accelerate is used.
And for the drivers of my mouse, I have downloaded Setpoint 5.00 (I'm on XP) ans the version of my drivers are 4.22
For the brightness, this doesn't work :
First, when I launch the game I that :

(white font)
And that :

He becomes grey !
So the ID Logo is pretty "dark" :

Like the menu :

And look my brightness :

http://img293.imageshack.us/img293/1639 ... re5od5.jpg
I've tried to show you exactly what my problem is =/

oh, isnt this the r_ignorewhitegamma issue?
someone correct me on this though, my q3 knowledge is a little rusty.
try typing
/r_ignorewhitegamma 1
in the console (press ~ to bring down the console)

I've found : seta r_ignorehwgamma 1 it's seem to work but i can't change my brightness now ^^'
EDIT : Wow, the problem with my mouse : I have the bug when I'm playing too ! This make the game... difficult =/
I've tried to put cl_mouseaccel/sensitivity but this don't resolve the problem ^^'

if i remember correctly, cl_mouseaccel is somewhat framerate dependent. Ensure you have com_maxfps at a stable value - i recommend 125.
If you have it at 0, that means that its unlimited, and when u get high framerates your sensitivity will increase

once you use the r_ignorehwgamma setting you can change r_gamma without having to vid_restart. you have to change gamma in console though if you want a greater value than 1 (using menu gives values of 0 - 1).

I used to have to deal with this problem.
I always fixed the brightness by just clicking randomly on the brightness bar, and it would get a lot lighter if I click the right area.
That's what I used to have to do, then I formatted and reinstalled Quake 3, and haven't had the problem since.
