DDR2 Voltages

So I have Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2x1GB) DDR2 800 MHz RAM in two computers. Both with Abit IP-35 Pro motherboards and Core 2 Quads running 2.4 GHz. On both computers the DDR2 voltage clocks down to 1.8 V ev3en though on Crucial's site and Newegg it specifies 2.2 V. i uped the voltage to 2.2 and brought the timings to what they should be, 4-4-4-12-2T, the Abit IP-35 Pro also has some other settings that I made match what Crucial says. One system wouldn't even boot with the timings and voltage, the other took the timings and the voltage, but I just checked the votage, after leaving it for a few weeks, and it is back down to 1.8. I may have reset the mobo at some point, due to trying to solve a sound issue, but then the times would have retarted back to 5s. Can anyone explain why memory timings and voltages are so fucked up nowadays?

If it's running at the rated speed and using less power than expected, what's the issue, chief?

I guess the issue is why isn't it staying where I put it. Besides, can't running low times with low voltage render some stability issues? I haven't run into anything yet, but I don't want to. I won't have this motherboard for too much longer, had to RMA it due to dead sound, hopefully the new one will take the timings and voltages just as well.

Thats odd, with my sticks of OCZ i needed to up the Voltige to 2.1V to get it to run 4-4-4-15 2T.

i know this sounds odd, but i think you will run into the same issue with the new Mobo, leave them as the slack timmings and update the bios. i can allmost bet that one of the releases addressed Ram issues.
