Speaking of LCD in terms of hardcore gamers, Midtone Response Time is one the most important factors.

My question is:
How fast is Midtone Response Time of CRT?

The reason I'm asking this question is:
I'm planing to buy 17 inch CRT, instead of expensive blur LCD.

CRT is about 6ms

However an 8ms LCD of comparable quality and screen size costs less and will last longer, not to mention having a much lower running cost right across its lifespan.

Hard to substatiate since comparison is rarely easy and pricing is local.

Heh, I just tossed out 3 CRT monitors at the electronics recycling dump. I would have eBayed them to you (though shipping would have costed a fair penny).

The CRT screen is a ViewSonic. I used to work for them, a couple of years ago. With ViewSonic, you get Quality with a capital Q, but they make you pay through the nose for it. A run-of-the-mill Samsung doesn't nearly fall into the same category.

I wouldn't mind being surprised, though, so don't hold back with the price comparisons.

In case of CRT the value is applicable to all range, not only to midtone, isn't it?

But when you want to play at 800x600 fullscreen, LCD is not definitely your choice, isn't it?

If they are above 19", I might have bought them despite the shipping cost, because there is no longer 19" or above CRT is available AFAIK, .

Who's gay enough to play at 800x600 these days? Regardless, it's the same in both LCD and CRT, video card will mipmap textures and the only thing you need to worry about is alising at that resolution which is best fixed by playing at a higher resolution.

Well, yeah. Because CRT is on it's way out. Did you hang on to 8-tracks and vynyl records too?
