DVD-RW drive not working

I got an Asus DVD-RW drive with my new build and now its not working. I just installed audio drivers like 20 minutes ago from the CD provided, but now my drive doesnt even read that. My drive shows up under "My Computer" and its working properly according to the device manager (Vista 64).

I put the disk in, and it starts making the sounds that a normal reading process would make. However, the disk doesnt actually start spinning as if it were executing some sort of auto-play. It kinda just sits in my drive, and whenever I right click and hit "explore" , the tray ejects and it tells me to put in a disk.

So, is there anything I could do?

Boot to safe mode. If the drive works, driver issue. If it doesn't, RMA it.

Looks like I have to RMA then.

Asus, you fucking cunts. I had to RMA their P5E motherboard, the sound card that CAME with their motherboard (just bought a separate sound card instead) and now I have to RMA their DVD-RW drive.

Hmmm.. I wonder if I have any more Asus components.. might as well send them also. I don't think I do, so I guess after I RMA this drive I'll be in the clear.

Luckily I have a spare DVD drive, so I wont have to wait 4-5 weeks for the replacement.
