I've lost touch, big time

I've come across a dell low profile PC
optiplex gx280
P4 3.2 HT
1.5gig ddr2 3600
80gig 7200rpm sata
GeForce 8400 GS 256MB DDR2
good enough for games or vista? runs very well in xp. how come it shows two cpu's?

the CPU has Hyperthreading, it was intel's Pre-Dual core CPU deal.

the rest dosnt sound that bad, its just the videocard that is the weak point, i am not sure if it can do Aero Glass in Vista, and i know it cant do most games out of the market today.

The graphics is a notoriously weak chip but common on low profile pcs of that age, I think it can do Aero though.
Trouble is that if it's a compact unit, you probably won't be able to swap the chip out.

cheers lads, i only really want vista ult on it for my office. maybe a few old games i've missed out on over the years.

Give OpenArea a spin. It's a free remake of Q3 with wacky models and a couple of decent maps.

Yep, on OA servers that run an instagib mod. Not sure if there are many such servers, but you can always host your own and invite a few friends.

QTracker shows bunches of OA servers with most mods.
