I'm writing this from the PC I have this problem with.
But since the problem occured, I can only use it as when you make a new install, I have to login using a new user account and there is nothing on your desktop and all of my programs and files are gone, ie.OFFICE, Adobe...my pictures...
Weird thing is. When I open My Computer, my two partitions are there with all the programs an files and even NTLDR in each C and D discs.
So I think these are two different problems???

so you ARE able to get to your files. you'd best back them up ASAP before this goes further.

Thanks for the advice. I was thinking the same but I just don't know how yet.
I was thinking to move them all in my main PC, is it feasable just by connecting them with the nic wire, ie. nic card to nic card. Both my pcs have the same Win XP Home.
Also, There are two partitions of 20 gigs in the fucked up one but my main PC has only one 120 gigs, I mean no partition. Can I make 2 or 3 partitions still on it or I would have to format it before doing so?
Thanks again.

You can't hook 2 PCs directly together with a standard ethernet cable, without a hub/switch/router between. You'd need a "crossover cable" for that.
There is software that will resize a partition but I don't recommend it.
It sounds like your problem PC has multiple windows installs on it, which makes a pretty strong case for you not to use multiple partitions anymore, no good will come of multiple windows installs for you

Thanks. I have a router but it's not connect because I misplaced the transformer. If I can connect them with it ( once I find the transformer ) do I need a special program to transfert all My documents and music, pictures, work with Word and all...Also, these I think are no problems but what about the program files and Windows file? How do I know which files I can tranfert or not?
Thanks

pete, fuck all that shit, that's a hassle. download and burn to disc
Knoppix. then, grab a usb thumb drive and after knoppix has booted to its desktop, insert the drive and it should recognize your thumb drive along with your harddrive. here's some simple instructions if i confused you:

Thanks again. Does this software will detect and transfer only the correct files, I mean, not transferring the Windows file...
And what is a usb thumb drive?

knoppix uses k3b which you can burn a dvd with if you have a compatible dvd burner. so, if that's the case, i hope you have a cd rom drive AND a dvd burner cuz you'll need the cd rom drive to run knoppix.
k i'm done here. good luck.

Download and install visbootpro will probably fix your problems.
