inner ear style please..but something with the rubber pads, so my ears dont bleed

and something that I dont have to push in every 10secs just to hear the bass ..that is the main reason the standard ipod ones piss me off

some around the $50 pricemark would be good

I picked up a pair of Bose in-ear headphones and they're fantastic, but they cost $100.

Im currently using my gf's sony headphones, and they are showing me how crappy my MP3s really are.
I just want some decent volume, decent bass and a comfortable fit.

Im wondering if the shitty noises that I am hearing are from shit MP3s or from shit headphones

It's more than likely the phones. In-ear phones are crap, though Bose has a great record for sound quality in their products. still, there's no substitute for enclosed phones. Especially if yer wantin to bump it up, G. Peace out.

I can only tell you about the Bose headphones, they're the only ones besides the original iPod headphones that I've used. They meet all your requirements, other than price.

Why don't you play your MP3s on a hi-fi to find out?

I wonder if I can test some or not.. if $100 buys something that is better, then its hardly gonna break the bank.

Seriously, headphones make all the difference to sound quality. You'll likely not hear the difference between 128 and 320 kbps MP3's (let alone lossless formats) unless you get something decent. But once you do, the difference is pretty astounding.

The Bose IMO, are a bit bass heavy and washed out, but they're sort of the entry level of what I would call "decent".

I have a pair of Sony...EX71's I want to say? They were 40 or 50 bucks I think and sound pretty decent.

i find that when i plug me ipod into the car which has a great sound system. some of the mp3's sound like shite.

Clearer than the Sony's EX51/71 I had and more bass than most Shure headphones.

They are certainly among the best sounding earbuds on the market (other than the higher $400+ models). I originally got the Shure E2C's but they broke within the 2 year warranty so I got them swapped and paid an extra $60 to upgrade to the newer and higher model up. So I now have another 2 years on this new pair. The E2C's were really clear at that price point, but lacked the low range sounds. The SE310's are superb in that they are perfectly balanced and it's quite noticeable.

You don't really notice what you're missing until you get something on the relative high end and then everything else just doesn't compare.

You can definitely find cheap earbuds with good sound, but it's allot of hit and miss. Sadly my ears do not accept earbuds so I while in DK my father in law hooked me up with a set Bang & Olufsen adjustable earphones.

The sony in ear w/ rubber earphones are the best for the price imo. Mine have lasted a couple of years too.

I don't get how can people stand in-ear phones.
Probably has something to do with my disgustingly overactive earwax producing glands, though.
I recently bought 3 of the cheapest Sennheiser over-ear phones for indoor and outdoor use, and love them.
Helps that I'm not really an audiophile (can't tell the diff between 192 mp3s and anything above) and don't care if my hair gets flat

i only like buds for portability, you just have to wind the wire up around the iPod and jam it in your pocket.
