was talking to my mate in work and he used analyse minerals and all that shit to say wether they are valuable and what not

so i said how the fuck did he end up in this shithole

he said as soon as he completed college he was going to places like syria where he they all had 5 armed guards each and was dodging bullets left right and centre

so i was like 'fair play i can see why you quit now'

on my 2nd trip i was on an oil rig where i watched a helicopter fly straight into the side of it and dropping into the sea, killing 13 people

i was like . all this for checking a few shitty minerals

and he carried on and on with places like zimbabwe kashmir ? n all that about being shot up and having the shit bitten out of you

so i was like, yep, see why you didnt want the job now

and he carried on and said the reason why he quit was, after working a 15 hr shift he sent one of the boys to go grab him lunch cus he never ate for like 15 hrs, so after 2 hrs of waiting the dude come back with a fucking BANANA... i was like... YOU QUIT CUS OF THAT :icon19:

its even the way he said it, like hes still got pent up aggresion because of that 1 day

my old friends dad was a freelance geologist, he used to analyse core samples to see if there was any chance of oil (or something). he only needed to work 3 months a year and he was fucking loaded, their house had three different stair cases ffs.

yer which is why i still dont get why he quit, he never done anything fancy like oil finding (cus thats the 1st thing i asked him) he said he used to find shit like limestone n stuff but that was what most of the newbies was doing

still cant believe he packed it in and decided to work for a retail company because some twat bringing him a banana back for breakfast, dinner and tea

think about it, you'd be pretty pissed off too

actually, what sort of course would you need to go on to acquire skills for a job like that ?
