Ninja Gaiden 2 and the new Bourne game

I've got Ninja Gaiden here from gamefly. Solid game but I think I liked the first one better (the first xbox version - and the first one in the whole series is my all time favorite for all of them).
While we are on the topic of action games, has anyone tried the Bourne game? I heard the hand to hand combat was pretty cool and the game overall wasn't terrible (I thought it would end up sucking bad.)
Worth a rental? Vacation in 1 week and I will be using the first few days to completely decompose and do fuckall but gaming and relaxing.

Can't comment on the bourne game but to say...if you thought the movies were interesting, read the books.
They're fucking awesome, and the movies butchered them worse than a blind vegan chopping up a calf at gunpoint.
The story in the books was amazing, it would have made a much better TV series.

Bourne... Hmmm... I got the demo for 360 when I preordered it (Because it wasnt on Live), and its so... Hmmm... The one level just fills me with smiles (The part from the first film, with the red bag?). Its just all cool, but when you look back, you notice that you didn't really do anything, its all automatic, you just have to press buttons when it tells you. The sniper bits are great though, you see though the snipers scope when he aims at you. Smart.
The second level wa a bit meh, it was shooting, and TBH I think the bourne game is all about combat, not shooting.
Its one of those games that you really cant listen to anybody on, you need to play it. Rent it first, I would say.

i gotta agree with odium on this one. you have to try bourne before you can really tell it's shite or not.

Getting further into NG2 you can really see why every review comments on the shitty camera and cheapness of many of the enemies and fights - turning success in some parts into luck rather than skill. Other areas have very balanced difficulty where you just have to be good.

I haven't looks at the BI game yet but I did download NG2.
I'd like this game if it wasn't for the bullshit jap style and old world/new world mix. It would have made a great game if it was just old world japan, like the last ninja was on C64. The other thing that bothers me is all the bullshit that goes on in a fight. All that slashing and graphical bollocks.
I won't be buying/renting this shower of shit.

Is it still impossibly difficult for anyone that does not feel like spending a week learning every goddamn move there is?
Because that's what made me hate the one on the old xbox with a passion.

I'm getting to the point where the cheap factor comes in - getting shot by enemies you can't see or do much about. However, I've found that if you pick up one or two good combos with each weapon, you can make it through most shit if you make sure to block. There are tons of moves for each weapon but I don't even try to use them. I pretty much just smash the yellow and blue buttons.
the boss fights can be really cheap - its like they have attacks you can't block, move so fucking fast you can't do anything, block almost all of your attacks, and pretty much wipe the floor with you again and again. And the camera can make things a lot more difficult than they would be with a camera that didn't utterly suck at important times. If I don't get past this particular boss fight in a few more tries, this game is going back to gamefly and i'll get lego indiana jones or kung fu panda - something more along the lines of my skill level (actually, Kung Fu panda actually got decent reviews for a movie based game even though you can blow through it in a few hours.)

I like NG2, the insane difficulty is tempered by the quasi regenerating health bar, the insane damage of some weapons, and the quick dash moves.
The random cheap shots especially by the wolves and rocket soldiers are the worst offenders but not too bad aside from that. Bosses tend to be simple once you figure them out. the levels so far have been much harder for me. Oh and the level 7 boss is ridiculously cheap.

I tried the demos for both Bourne and NG2 yesterday. They're both alright but not good enough that I'll be buying either of them.
