which is the best?

what is the best programm for removing such things as spyware, pop up, and any thing else your computer can get?

i use macfee (updated) and spybot search and destroy (updated)

adaware and microsoft's antispyware work well. i've been leaning more towards MS's proggie for friends because it works in real time.

p.s. and if you haven't, try Firefox for your browser for awhile.

Don't make the mistake of believing a single program will fix all the problems.

Build up a suite.

Also, don't use any software that the authors want you to pay for. It's not worth it.

on the other hand, there's absolutely no reason to use 4 or even 3 spyware removal tools. that's riduculous. it all starts with common sense and better surfing habits.

FF and Adaware here, with no problems for well over a year.

Perhaps. I was leaning more towards the 'adware is not antivirus, and vice versa' fallacy a lot seem to make.

You've also got a lot more knowledge than the average user has ;)

I recommend using two antispyware apps. Either MS' app and adaware or MS' app and spybot.

that would be wise for the "clicker" type. one for real-time and another for "backup".

I only use Firefox and haven't gotten any spyware at all since.

I use SpyBot S&D and Ad-Aware. For viruses I use Norton and PC Pitstop's online scaner
