Anyone watching Deadliest Catch?

Ol' Captain Phil Harris almost died. Fucker got tossed out of his bunk when a rogue wave slammed into the boat and he smashed into some furniture. He thought he had broken ribs at first, but when finally got to the hospital they figured out that he'd had a big blood clot go from his leg THROUGH HIS HEART and into his lungs, which was the cause of all the blood he was hacking up (and the camera crew insisted on filming), yech.
I can't feel too bad for him, the bastard lives on Red Bull and cigarettes. Plus he has a huge house in Seattle, two Harleys, a Z06, and he clears $500,000 a year.

Is there only one season a year to catch the King's crabs? And what the heck are they doing the rest of the year?

Sat, they basically get paid yearly salary for a few month's work. It's almost like being a teacher in this country, only not as frustrating or dangerous.

Over here the oil prices are rapidly killing the fishers.

If you were making half a million dollars a year in just a few months, wouldn't you take the rest of the year off?

To my knowledge there's only one King crab season, yes. But, there's also opilio crab, baradei crab, and they also fish for cod.

I had no TV when I lived in Canada, but this always used to be on the TV in my favourite pub with no sound. Always wanted to see it properly, but I didn't think it had arrived in the UK until I saw it last Friday on Channel 4. I like it, it could become a regular thing for me.
I've seen some clips of "Ice Road Truckers" too. Similar thing, but I've never seen a whole episode.

Ice Road Truckers is stupid and boring. Guys drive 10mph on frozen lakes. Whoopdee shit.
Black Gold looks good, bunch of roughneck retards getting mangled drilling for oil. I'll bet we see Q3W's own scnerge on their at some point.

There might eventually be people on there that I know, but I haven't worked on a drilling rig since 94. I'm on the production end of it. It was filmed about 150 or so miles from here. And yeah, I've been watching it. A lot of those guys
are retards. Bunch of wormy fucks.

Actually, my brother bought a truck of of the Longhorn rig driller Gerald. My brother is also a tool pusher for a Cheyenne Drilling rig that is currently drilling in Colorado but has been on the Barnette Shale boom in Ft. Worth/Dallas area for the last 5 or 6 years. Currently making fuckloads of money. Yeah Goof, even your wife might be jellus. I myself just got a 25% raise last week.

I'm hooked on that show, it's so crazy to see them pounding ice off the boat with sledge hammers, and the size of the waves washing over the ships. I wonder how any of them make it out alive.
