since i'm one of the six or seven keanu reeves fans in the world, i'll probably go see this. i don't recall klaatu being subjected to a polygraph in the original though

since i'm one of the six or seven Jennifer Connelly fans in the world, i'll probably go see this. i don't recall her having so small eyebrows in the original Labyrinth though

If you survive the earth dies, if you die, the earth survives
so basically the plot is: aliens come down here to save the planet earth from the destructive parasite that is human...we're not invaded by evil aliens, we're exterminated by the good guys... so much for the big finale punchline

Hey thanks for the heads up here o'dium
I bought the DVD of the original movie some time ago. Classic Sci-Fi in my book.
This could be a great movie

Or it could be a typical Hollywood remake and suck balls. I'm hoping it's not, but we're talking about Hollywood.

iirc the original movie has a similar "message", but wrapped around the cold war nuclear issue rather than the environment. i suspect this is one of those movies where i'll enjoy the messenger but want to shoot the message

only the ending was bad, the movie itself had great potential up until the final 30 min.

yeah. the journey was great but the destination failed to live up to the potential it was being set up for.

I'm sure this movie will be trashed by Hannity, Limbaugh and the usual suspects because the movie actually has the stupidity to blame humans for global warming.

unless john bolton pops up to say how great it is, in which case hannity will turn on a dime. the guy's an errand boy
