A Few Questions

all this talk about quake live has fired me up to dust off my copy of q3a 
anyway its been a while so i've forgotten a few set up tips so....
what's the best way to install multiple installations? can you just copy your original q3 folder into a different folder or do you have to go through the install program again.
what network settings would you recommend for 6 meg down 350 up dsl?
and what server browser would you recommend out of qtracker and MAXBrowse?
