I hope they find Higgs soon.

Sat have you seen the LHC? I'd love to tour that place. The construction was just amazing.

I've been thinking of going to see this since its only a few hours away:
Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory

The one close by is here:

If you aren't somewhat sophisticated you don't get the joke. Most people I know wouldn't know what the LHC is if it fell out of the sky and landed on their house.

I don't think they'll allow tourists to enter the collider site, it's mostly 27 km's of tunnel anyway. It's a marvelous piece of engineering indeed. Spending 2.6 billion just for hardcore physic research, awesome.

And the guys of CERN also invented the World Wide Web, all praise to them.

it's one of those jokes that if you have to be told... no shit you wont find it funny.
knowing wtf it's about does get a good chuckle if and only if you can "get it" within that first millisecond after the punch line

Actually, one built on a space platform seems like a good idea. However, the cost and effort involved in its creation would discourage me from dropping it on someones house just to see if yer correct. I'm gonna spend my money on a Starbucks frap instead and conceed the point to you.

p.s. Don't go to Hanford, They are a bit strange down there. :paranoid:
