JC IN A LEISURE SUIT!

I've never seen anything like that!
Can this happen to any OS, or is this Linux specific? I would be interested if someone could explain this.

one would assume that it still works in windows?
what kind of GPU do you have?
p.s. it may be that you're running it in theater mode to much, it has feelings as well...

@tnf
Or a PotSC who was reborn as a bug.
GPU is Rage Pro 3D onboard AGP.

Don't worry, linux is the only operating system that ever crashes.

Do the PotSC know where you live?

a13n doesn't live; he simply exists.
And the PotSC are well aware of this.

anyway, to be slightly on topic here... by the looks of it, it was Xwindows that crashed...
i'm sure a little googling or something will tell you where to look for error logs.

No. "Unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference" means it is a kernel bug, not a defect in a user-land program like X.

Image is not loading for me.
Edit: There it is.
That kind of oops (unable to handle kernel paging request) signifies some kind of memory issue. Run memtest to make sure your RAM isn't bad.
Not much more to go on here. Has it happened since?

@Therac-25
No, just one time.
Ram is 128MB + 64MB, combination of different vendors.
They may have different fsb.
But this PC hasn't crashed for almost 2 years.
TTTT, I'm not seeking for solution but just want to show off this bizarre shot to as many people as possible!

If you aren't looking for a solution then this doesn't need to be open.
