seriously...even the morons metallica themselves don't like that album...drawn out lame songs trying to be like older albums but without their creative bass player. the album was shit...everything after justice has been amateur kiddie shit...face it morons...metallica had 3 good albums then they have sucked ever since...period...unless ur a musical moron...

edit: doesn't suck. doesn't compare to the 80s stuff, but it does actually sound like the same band made it. lyrics and vocals are the weakest link. instrumental is

MOP I think has the best overall band sound, AJFA has some of the meaniest riffage ever created, so from a guitar-only standpoint, I think it's better.

New album sounds pretty good...

Master of Puppets is their best album, AJFA is their second best.

This album is kinda ok, I didn't like The day that never comes, but it kinda grew on me.

Started playing guitar again listening to their new tracks

The vocals ruin it for me.

and justice was/is the most technical drum wise and has the most odd changes. the reason jason newstead didnt do more on the album is because they resented him because cliff had just passed and they were still all butt hurt. they even said they turned the bass way down on the album to fuck with him. there are song on that album that they still cant pull off live.

Shame about Newsted, he is a good bass player and seems to be a pretty cool guy. But I mean... I can't really blame 'Tallica. If my bass player got squished under a fucking bus I would be pretty fucked up too. I don't even know if I would wanna make music for a while after that. Much of the bass frequencies on that album are taken by the guitar & kick drum, because Lars & James mixed the album themselves and didn't know what the fuck they were doing. Whether or not they "turned the bass down", or if it was just enveloped by massive guitar chugging is hard to say. But yeah... the album has no fuckin' bass

I wish they would play Shortest Straw or Frayed Ends of Sanity more often... I love those tracks. The lyrics in Shortest are badass!
