While playing against a bot on a high setting that is weilding the lightning gun, particularly in a duel, it seems that their aim is completely flawless. I could have full health and armor and be nailing him, yet as soon as he gets in my face with the lightning gun, I go from 100+ health and armor to dead, even if I'm also hitting him with it the entire time. I don't have as much of a problem if he uses any other weapon, and it's frustrating to be dead before I can even get a second shot off. Is this normal for the lightning gun to kill you within 2 seconds from full+ health and armor?

yeah..try fighting against a nightmare bot that's holding a railgun on a wide-open map.

Bots are nothing - try playing against experienced human players and they'll do the same with a machinegun.

yea, q3dm17 gets very not fun at some point... usually the point where your opponent has 30ms ping and shoots over 40% with the mg.

ahhh q3dm17 is legendary. i was god with railgun only (instagib or instaUnlagged) but full arsenal was brutal for me most of time.

Try not to play with bots that have a level higher than 'hurt me plenty' it will be good for your health

Play against Sarge or Mynx...there desire to use the LG is pretty low

if u played quake III revelotion if you completed the game and went on arena and played against your own campaign player if it let u do it just sayin it wont let me do it i mean his guy is on the bot list and it shows his shadow on the loading screen but when u get to the part where u choose your team or u start fighting it wont show him

Swear at bots with your rudest curse words. They don't like that.

i called one a dizzyblood and they came up to me (oh and did i mention it was a nightmare bot)and it shot me with a rail gun and when i was dead it shot me open and even when i was not even there it kept tring to shoot me and when i was alive i came up behind him and he turned around and shot me with a rocket LOL but i was quite ticked off though
