I am going to publish a q3a digital comic pdf

1stly take some appropriate in-game screenshots.
2ndly paste these screenshots to comic frames.
3rdly add some commentator's comment and player's thought as a text.

I am going to earn money by selling these pdf.
A cooperater who can write a comic book effect mod and wants to earn money with me will be appreciated.

Like 4 years back or so, I started writing up a story based on Q3A. It started as a movie sort of idea with the names of the charachters, but ended up turning into a bigger idea rather than just running around and shooting each other, which would really have very little entertainment value. The repetition of that idea would get boring after a while for anyone reading it. After a while it turned into something that I had wanted to send into ID for an idea for a Q4. Q4 came out and turned back towards Strogg, which I thought was/is pretty weak compared to my idea of where it could have gone rather than stepping backwards to that idea. I'm not saying I'm the best or whatever, but I'm pretty sure that alot of people would have really found it interesting..and different from any other game. Anyways..slightly before Q4 was released.. the computer I had it all on got fucked up when I moved to where I live now. All of it is lost now..and I was so pissed off at that time that I could have seriously killed someone..! I kind of retired the idea.
The idea was kind of based on what happens to the gladiators after they win the arena's and pretty much follow Xaero..to where he went after he left the arena's. It went into more explanation of who the Vadrigar really are..rather than just being builders of arena's. It had alot more focus towards spirituality..since I figure would be the focus of the gladiators entering the arena's after they had died from their mortality..or been killed like the beginning of the game where Sarge becomes a gladiator.

The real question is whether the Vadrigar created the arena's for entertainment value, or for a bigger purpose? That's where I went with it. Minded that I really gave up on writing it since I really hate doing something twice, but if I did continue..I would change alot of things for the better. That would take alot of time though. I used to write for a comic book like 10 years back, one of my friends did the drawing for it..though he and I kind of went are own ways over time. That's where I get my name "v1l3" which is what I named the comic book...I really haven't been a big reader of comic..except like Spawn and Witchblade.

I dunno about doing it for money though due to whoever owns the rights on the idea of what Q3A is. Copyrights would be important. Or I'm not sure. I just found it interesting of your wanting to do a comic on Q3A...just made me think of that.

Hey, vile!
My concept is less ambitious than yours.
The main focus lies in reader's learning of each level.
After reading my pdf people cannot help but want to play that level...hopefully
For example I describe the battle in q3dm6.
Text messages consist of each player's real time thought and a few audiences(commentators)' conversation which explains what's going on down there.
People can learn the basic concept of each level w/o any hassle while enjoying reading.

Introduction is very simple.
The hero is a poor unemployed guy who has little money.
He happens to read a newspaper and find an article about pro gamer.
He decides to be a millionaire by playing quake3 arena.

The reason why people don't play new maps for competition is that they are too lazy to learn new maps even if they are good maps.
So my pdf can also induce people to play new maps.

I believe that one of the main reasons why pro-q3dm6 is played again and again in competition is that it is played in a supposed way which makes competition more formal and less chaotic.
Even if a custom map is well designed for competition, it won't be played unless people are familiar with the map.
IMO I think it is very demanding to learn a new map from scratch.

So the 1st step is for a level desinger to explain his real intention of layout and entity placement.
The 2nd step is for me to publish a comic pdf based on his concept.
The 3rd step is for people to buy and enjoy reading my pdf at quake live official website and learn the concept of the layout.
The 4th step is for induced people to play the custom map for competition.
The 5th step is for id software(quake live) and Adobe(pdf) to fund me.
The 6th step is for me to be a millionaire and be independent from PoTSC for the rest of my humble life.

lol, do you really think this is a good idea? why would someone pay you to learn how to play a quake3 map through pictures? i just don't get it at all.... the more i think about your concept the dumber the idea sounds, but what do i know, good luck with it

If you think totally, my idea should not be so bad.
My business, by itself, may sound cocky.
But in total my business should make the community more active, increasing the number of players who play various maps.

Even if this project does not succeed commercially, I'm going to launch a map introduction(review) site which has a completely different taste or fresh taste from existing sites.

do you really believe that? i think quakelive will boost the community, but not the mappers and modders community as id now have total control of what is and is not played... and custom maps will not be on their agenda.

I haven't yet previewed quake live.
Maybe I need to check it as soon as possible.

Would you happen to have a spare invitation key?
