Yeah, $300 on speakers is pretty low. I've just got bookshelf Cerwin-Vegas and a 10" 400 watt Infinity sub and I've got over $900 in my speakers. Don't skimp on sound, it is a major part of the movie and gaming experience.
a friend of mine just got
these. For once he's got so much crap plugged in he didn't know how to make em work properly

i haven't seen his final setup but what you lads think of these?

that's a pretty good model, but i would make sure to:
1) test in store
2) and/or make sure they have a return policy (either 1 week or up to 30 days) where you can try them at home. they'll sound different enough in both places.

had a listen in store, were pretty good. 11 obviously sounded better than the 9s. the 7s were subpar imo.
prolly end up with the 9s, the difference in price is not a whole lot per unit, but a bit too much for the whole set. .. i think :/
anyways, on my wishlist for after i move (few weeks). gotta rewire everything too so better to do it all in one go
