XP Home sp3 office 2003 professional

A neighbor lady has above computer and every time she opens a new word document this shows up:

klj;kl;jk

I googled and got nothing. Is it a macro or something like that. I never used macros so I dont know.

One other thing. Below FILE it shows the normal yellow folder thing to open new doc but to the right of that icon there is another icon with a white circle and a red line through it and when you put the mouse on it it says Permission [unrestricted access].

First problem sounds like she's saved over the default document with one containing that line of text. Google should fix that up for you.

Second one... not sure.

Go to add/rem programs and run a repair of MS office. That should fixup little issues.

Don't forget the usual scan for virus/spy crap and making sure all everything's patched.

Went to add/remove and uninstalled office and then reinstalled and it still does the same thing.

Search for the normal.dot file and delete it. That's Word's startup template, and it will automatically create a new one. See if that helps.

Make sure you search in the "Documents and Settings" folder as well as in Program Files.

second one looks like drm issues.

did she save over her normal.dot with a document that had information rights management enabled?

It is really annoying that normal.dot is located in complicated folder!
