Yeah. There are 6 ports. One marked uplink. Thats what port my PC is plugged into. But I dont know how to set up a network. No file sharing or anything. I have tried many times before but i just cant. Like I said, all the other games work fine, just Quake 3 doesn't work. A link to a tutorial or a tutoriral from you would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Okay, that's not what uplink is for. The uplink port doesn't cross the rx/tx wires, it's used for connecting two hubs together since hubs are "dumb" in this regard. Switches are auto-sensing, so they don't need a special uplink port (any port on a switch can be used to connect to another switch). If everything else (other games, etc) is working, then it's probably not an issue and the nic on your PC must be autosensing -- with older hardware, your main PC wouldn't be on the network at all. I'd switch away from the uplink anyway, just because you're doing it wrong.
Anyway, have you tried connecting to a game using the ip address? /connect xx.xx.xx.xx in the quake3 console? Does that work?

Yup. I tried like 4 times. Each time it was trying to connect and I said "Trying to connect" then it said trying againg 1.......2.......3........4........5.......6.......7........8........9.......10.......11.......12.......13.......14.......15.......16..... and so on until it reached 20 then I just closed out Quake 3, and gave up and just played Quake 1 co-op.

Like I said, I configured Windows Firewall to "Unblock" Quake 3. What else am I supposed to configure for Quake 3 in Windows Firewall??

yup, i know that much about networking to know that i need to unblock a program
