The best part is that the main reasons to buy it, are utterly worthless to US consumers thanks to AT&T being overwhelmed by being the exclusive carrier.

(Those reasons being MMS, tethering and faster 3g speeds)

Yep, it's gonna be faster, cheaper, longer battery life, you'll be able to copy/paste text, send mms, and AT&T will have all that available by the end of Summer. What's not to like? I'll be getting one...

and tethering you can do without their permission (jailbrk), but you already knew that.

3.0 software is pretty slick even on the old hardware. The biggest benefit is faster, more stable mobile safari which also means apps using webviews are much more stable, which is good for my likely-never-to-be-released efforts. Will be upgrading to the 3GS when my contract runs out though, all I really need from a new iPhone is 3G and a 32 gig capacity

They said AT&T wont support MMS from iPhone until end of the summer and their data network is already being slammed so hard it can't support current 3g speeds, let alone improved 3g.

I want to download that torrent in a bad way, but I think I'll wait as well. I need to un-jailbreak mine too. It's starting to get a little slow. I think I'll restore it tonight and get it all ready...

it's an official version, just not officially released. It's installed and iTunes' syncing my info and data/apps atm. Almost done.

I hope it didn't fucked up my photo gallery with medical oddities (see photo thread for a spear injury)
