you might get a better response in the Level Editing forum... or from that forum's FAQs.

this is probably the most relevant thread in LEM:

obsidian wrote:BSP2MAP was a q3data.exe command line. It's old.

Q3Map2 2.5.16

Also available with GtkRadiant 1.5.0 from http://www.qeradiant.com

Usage:

C:\[dir\to\q3map2]\q3map2.exe -convert -format map C:\[dir\to\bsp]\mapname.bsp

Q3Map2 will preserve textures, but not texture coordinates, so you'll have to fix those manually. One of the Q3Map2 variants out there is patched to do even this, but I don't recall which one. It may be part of NetRadiant or something.
ask in LEM if you have any questions about working with the map.

if you can, buy the game on CD or from steam - at least, don't tell people that you've just downloaded it.

anyway - the game's really old, so the in-game browser is next to useless.

use this to find games instead:

Good luck with that. You won't be able to play on the bulk of the servers with a pirated copy.

but the servers he can play on will be perfect.

opponents with unnaturally good aim despite navigating the map like a trapped cat, the colourful and vibrant discourse. so much to look forward to :)
