Doesn't work on XP?? Went to install it after a long time, 'cause my cd-roms finally work again. I click setup and it tells me this program is not fit to run in ms-dos mode. Compatability mode doesn't even fix this issue. I hate XP, if I had a Win98 cd I'd partition 20 gigs and install that OS.

If I can't install it, I can't patch it. Just wanted to play it for old times sake, plus I like screwing around with the guns.

Thanks for the thread referral, both of you. Although manually trying to force the setup.exe file by typing this in: "x:\setup.exe -lgntforce" won't work for me, I have no idea why. Gimme my hacking and shooting! Don't make me install Deus Ex biotch.

Oh yeah, and there's various mods for SS2 to improve visual quality, including new models & textures.

Started playing dungeon keeper again recently. Quality stuff.

The graphics don't matter when you get into it again.

I figured out how to get the game on my comp without the installation file. I can copy the folder from the cd to my h/d, only problem is it doesn't run videos or most sounds, only some sounds. I don't know if this is another xp problem or something that isn't in the folder when I copy it that I would recieve from the setup file.

Odd. I have it running fine on XP without doing anything special (not running it in compatibility mode either). I just never had the installer issue because I installed it way back on some older OS and just kept the installed folder on my disk.

Have you applied the patch? That might fix it. You can easily check if you have the patched version by the way, because the original out of the box version didn't have multiplayer, that was added in the patch (and there was only ever one patch as far as I remember).
