PB Updating problems?

Okay I'm at my wits end here. I finally got q3 reinstalled yesterday, after rebuilding my pc 2 months ago, and I'm itching for a game.

So I install the 1.32 PR, unzip OSP, connect to the Lounge CA server, get out, run pbweb.exe, and it times out downloading two files.

I go to evenbalance, manually download the htm files I need, and run pbweb again, and it doesn't see the files I already have, and still times out downloading them.

So I go manually download the files again, and connect to the server again, hoping it will update me through the game while i'm on the server. It looks good at first, kicks me to specs while it's updating, and after about 15-20 minutes of waiting, the update craps out and kicks me from the server.

I have done all this two or three times already, and I have no idea what else to do. It seems like these htm files I download are supposed to be converted to .dll files for PB to use, but the file size changes, so it's not just a rename, or I would just do that myself.

What in hell can I do to get PB to work? pbweb has full access on all ports and protocols to talk to any address on the internet -- unless evenbalance is having server problems or something, this should work flawlessly shouldn't it?

Any ideas?

Nah, I downloaded it from evenbalance's website. :(

Here's what the console says when I get kicked:

PunkBuster Client: 0 Current Cvar Violations
PunkBuster Client: Receiving from PB Server (v1.150 I)
rook You have been kicked via PunkBuster (for 0 minutes) ... Visit http://www.evenbalance.com to manually update your PB Files

And I notice that it deleted the pbsec.htm file from the PB directory, apparently when it tried to update and failed.

wtf

Holy shit I got it to work. Maybe I should read the directions better next time.

I was downloading all the htm files into my pb directory. Apparently two of them were supposed to go to the pb\htm directory instead of right in the pb folder, and only the pbsec.htm went in the pb root.

Oh well, live and learn.

edit: Thanks for the help survivor.

Wanna join in a game on The Lounge? :)
