I'll be renting it for the 360 via Gamefly, so if you wind up getting it on that platform, shoot me a message and we can hunt for mad lewt together.

This game's pretty awesome and i highly recomend it. got it for the 360 and played to about level 11 and so far the pacing is spot on. picking up new weapon drops is always a blast too because they're all over the place as far as stats go. i plan on trying out the co-op later this week(end). trans, any idea when you'll get the game via gamefly?

It looks interesting but [begin o'dium moment] the cell shading seems distracting and I fucking hate seeing 10,000 little sprites showing how much damage was done with every bullet impact...especially when using a machine gun or other automatic weapon. Looks gay but I'm sure RPG fagg0ts will miss it if it's not there.
Other than that it looks alright.

I'm hoping you can either turn off the black outlines or run it with enough FSAA that it doesn't look as shit as it does in the videos.

i was a bit concerned about the cellshading and damage numbers spamming all over the place too. the numbers flying all over the fucking place actually turned me away from resistance 2. but in this game i don't really notice them unless i specifically look for them. the cellshading isn't over the top either and seems to work pretty good. if anything i'd compare it to crackdown with the dark/black outlines toned down A LOT. it doesn't have that extreme of a cartoony look and the handrawn textures really give it a unique visual style that i find pleasing to look at while not distracting me from the core gameplay.

why the fuck have shell shading if you only go half way with it? it really makes it look outdated
Sorry but this crossbreed idea they had just didn't work out.

I'm not sure when I'll get it. I have both Brutal Legend and Borderlands in my queue, but the availability of both is low and I may get BL first, so it could be a while.

I played up to lvl 14 last night as a medic (without shaft) and it was enjoyable. With a group, so the enemies were tougher. They will stand there and shoot at you while you shoot them in the face 100 times. If you can think of it as an RPG and get over that fact, you would enjoy it too.

				i'm down for a q3w game.
we gonna start from scratch or just use whatever we have? I currently have a 26+ siren with pheonix and a pretty good modifier that would work well with co-op.
the thing to figure out i guess would be, when to play? i'm pretty free except for on mondays and wednesdays. what about you guys?
i played some split screen co-op with a friend earlier and it was a blast so i'd really like to try out getting a group of 3 or 4 peeps together.

I've had a lot of fun with this game so far.
I've played every character to at least level 10 and like the hunter the best, bloodwing is my best friend.
The only complaints so far I have are the lack of NPCs and I wish the characters were a little more defined. I'm only at level 11 right now, so keep in mind, my review is based on just the fraction of the game I've played so far.
I have only met two NPCs, three if you count the robot in the beginning. I was expecting a much more interactive world and am a little disappointed so far. I never thought I would really miss shop keepers and the like, but buying items from vending machines gets a little dull. Also, taking quests from a bulletin board is a little dry. Reading the back story on the quests I can't help but ask "why do I care?" I never meet the people asking the quests to be done and even after I complete the quest, I just return to the same bulletin board to receive my reward. I understand that it's a wasteland, but taking all my quests from a bulletin board is becoming tedious and pretty dry story-wise.
The only other complaint I have is I would have liked to see more defined characters. I know I'm only level 11, so I've only been able to use 7 upgrade points and that the characters are obviously going to be more defined at level 50 when you can use all your points, but I would have liked to see a more drastic change from level 1. For instance, I would have liked to see different amounts of HP based on the character. Brick would have been the logical choice to start out with more HP even before upgrades while the siren or hunter could have started lower.
I would have also liked if the preferred weapons meant a little more. I know that a character can upgrade stats favorable to their weapon of choice, the hunter for instance can increase the damage output of sniper rifles, but again I would have liked to see it from level 1. If the hunter is supposed to prefer sniper rifles and revolvers, it would be nice if all of the weapons other than the sniper rifles and revolvers did only half damage. The same applies to every character. The soldier for instance prefers assault rifles and shotguns, so it would be nice if every weapon other than assaunt rifles and shotguns did only half damage.
As a hunter, the sniper character, I don't feel like I should be able to charge in with a shotgun or smg and take out enemies from up close without any real deterrent to do so.
I know the characters can use upgrades to upgrade their preferred weapons, but if there was a more drastic change, it would define character roles even more. Right now the main difference between characters just seems to be their unique skills, it would be nice if it was a little more fleshed out than that. In addition to the unique skills and skill trees, I would have liked to see initial HP and weapon based damage output from the start.
I guess what I was hoping for was more of a class-based system ala TF2 than what's in place now.
The game is definitely worth the purchase and I look forward to completing the game and even replaying with more difficult enemies to reach the level 50 cap, but once I've looked at all the skill trees and already decided which character I like and want to use the most, I don't see a whole lot of replay value.
