New camera promises to capture your whole life
A camera you can wear as a pendant to record every moment of your life will soon be launched by a UK-based firm.
Originally invented to help jog the memories of people with Alzheimer's disease, it might one day be used by consumers to create "lifelogs" that archive their entire lives.
Worn on a cord around the neck, the camera takes pictures automatically as often as once every 30 seconds. It also uses an accelerometer and light sensors to snap an image when a person enters a new environment, and an infrared sensor to take one when it detects the body heat of a person in front of the wearer. It can fit 30,000 images onto its 1-gigabyte memory.
The morons who live by Twitter and Facebook's "What are you thinking right now" will have a goddamned field day with this. Like I give a fuck about every moment of some mouth-breather's life. Post their inevitable death from their stupid actions and maybe I'll be interested....at least for a moment's laughter.

If I saw someone wearing one of those, my first instinct would be to tell them to turn it off, but by then it's already taken a picture, so what's the point?

I'm pretty sure you can take pictures of people in public provided you don't profit from them. (Holy alliteration, Batman!)

you can publish them only it has newsvalue or is incidental (e.g. tourists at a landmark).
its the same reason a storeowner is obligated to let people know they have security cameras

So I guess this comes down to an argument of what "news value" is.

Gordan Bell and Jim Gemmell, senior developers at Microsoft, are developing
MyLifeBIts e-memory - a digital extension of the brain. Everyone will have a vast digital archive - life logging. They purport that it will "change what it means to be human". I don't get it. I don't get Google Wave either but it's coming next year.
Tom Ashbrook did
an On Point show in September.

If they are going to change what it means to be human, could they first define what it means to be human? Because I thought it meant not being bionic.

soon, all you'd have to do to search google, would be to simply think of a question, and before you even finish formulating it fully, you'd have your answer. Gives new meaning to "Know it all's"
edit:
k not soon, maybe 20 years?

its like obscenity i suppose, we know it when we see it.
if you had one of those cameras, and you decide to go into an adult bookstore, and youbuy some scat, its fine for you to share that with others. it's your right.
however if i was there too its not for you to decide if I want to share that with others.
btw i still have to scat pictars, PM?
