Turning a Q3 Demo into wmv or mpeg

What program do I need to change a demo into file that runs without Q3..I'm not sure what file it gets turned into wmv..mpeg..mp3 or whatever.

there's a command to record demos directly as AVI: cl_avidemo XX, where XX is the fps of the avi you want to record.

ioquake3 can record to AVI directly. Check out the cl_aviframerate and cl_avimotionjpeg cvars.

It's fine for a quick and dirty movie (your basic "box map"), but if you are slightly more serious you need to put a little more time into it...
First of all make sure your config is not a typical gaming cfg (no hud, no clutter, no chat text, no vertex lighting) - a mapping cfg for the final levelshot is nice.

Tips about the process of making a movie (overall view, lots of links included, might be overwhelming at first)
