Any recommendations on a gaming headset with attached mic? Or I suppose they could be separate units if there is some kind of mic I could snap on my shirt or whatever. I don't like the desk mics tho.

I've have a Turtlebeach X1 headset I won from gametrailers.com that works great, I love it, the puck part that plugs into my xbox 360 controller broke however at one point and I contacted their company via e-mail cause they don't ship replacement parts to canada and they were really cool and shipped me a replacement one free of charge. I'd recommend it, they have diff models too like X2 X3 X4 obviously the higher the better.

Could use em at work too. LOL at the dude in the picture though.

yeah those are pretty nice looking, razor's always got nice style I find. that mic seems pretty solid though, I find having one that flexes nice to have sometimes cause I can move it closer or farther away from my mouth instead of up/down...

Sennheiser make alright headsets, I had a set of the "PC350" and the mic worked great on it. Not sure about the ones you posted though
Razer make nice headsets too but most of the time it's an overpriced "name" that you're paying for with them (At least in my experience with buying mice)

One thing to note is if you plan on using it for the xbox 360 make sure the part the plugs into the controller has the on/off switch for the voice built into that module, it's not apparent but some have that switch in other areas and it makes it a real pain to turn the voice on/off. That one looks cool btw but 160$ pricetag!

I'm thinking about getting the Razer barracuda headset. It's 5.1 and looks rather sexy

I would really only use it with my PC with Ventrilo or listening to music. I have a PS3 but I don't do anything online with it.

Fuck Creative and fuck USB. My boycott of Creative aside, I currently have a USB headset and absolutely hate it. I'm constantly having to switch between sound devices and the worst part is it renders my high-end sound card useless.

A friend has the razer barracuda and i played some games with it. Good sound quality and yeah it looks pretty slick.
I spent a little less though and went with a steelseries 5h. Really satisfied so far, and it's amazingly comfortable to wear imo.

fuck it, they're 66 quid on amazon. Even though I should be curbing impulse buys, I got some Razer Barracudas.

These came in the mail today
http://www.steelseries.com/int/products ... nformation
excellent sound, excellent drivers and mixing program, and MAN can they go LOUD!!!!!
They are comfy too. I've had them on the last 5 straight hours and they feel like I just put them on. The mic is cool, it retracts into the left ear piece and is adjustable as well. You can use them in usb or with separate plugs for a soundcard, or mp3 player or whatever too.
did i mention they sound really awesome...

So far I'm learning towards Steelseries the most. Perhaps the 5H v2 (non usb) in white. Dell has 'em for $89.99 free shipping.

No, actually. I just change the default device then reload any apps with exclusive locks.

Like Bacon, I've got the Sennheiser PC 350s, and they're great. Good sound quality and decent mic, plus really comfortable for extended use.
