Two questions:

1) Why are people laughing about this when Obama can't tell his daughters a bed-time story without teleprompters?

2) The most important question: Why are people still talking about Sarah Palin and the Tea Partyers like they actually matter? They're a bunch of crazy, racist rednecks...who cares what they do or say? They matter in politics as much as the KKK does...zilch.

Seriously...every single news item I've seen that mentions Sarah Palin or the birthers/tea party idiots I've skipped right over.

While I've cracked jokes that Palin can/might be elected, the only reason it a possibility and the only reason that it would ever come about is because people KEEP her in the news...like she's relevant to anything besides birthing a retard.

The reason I don't think there's much difference is because both Obama and Palin are trying to ensure that they're (in some way) prepared to regurgitate what they're supposed to say to their audiences correctly. Don't get me wrong, there is no comparison in their intellect as Obama clearly doesn't need the teleprompters in a real debate, but as it relates to a speech, they're basically doing the same thing.

I was seriously hoping she'd go away after her book tour but that simply won't happen now that she's on Fox's payroll. Now she'll stay "relevant" well past the 2012 elections...perhaps for the next decade if she puts out another book...and I fully blame all the idiots in the world who can't stop writing articles (or talking on TV) about her. She's a bigger attention whore than Oprah.

Once people stopped believing the KKK had actual power the Klan went back to lynching privately and everyone (almost) forgot about them. Sure...some black people kept dying (because racists will always be racists) but the Klan no longer had a national public voice like Strom Thurmond to make them feel more important than they actually are.

Once they realize (again) that nobody gives a fuck about their opinions on how to run a country, the tea-baggers will go back to hating government (and everyone else) in private. [EDIT] And as an added bonus, when these people get disenfranchised, they stop voting...which means less of a chance of morons like Palin getting elected.

I can't agree that it's the same thing. There's a certain difference in the level of professionalism here. It just looks really moronic when you're using notes written on your hand, especially when you want to be taken seriously as a politician. I don't know if Obama ever really tried to cover up the fact that he used teleprompters, but sneaking notes on your hand clearly is an effort to keep it hidden.
Also, in the video U4EA posted you can see she glances at her hand during an interview. That's not a speech.

not to mention, you need a teleprompter because there is an entire speech there...the fact that she can't handle memorizing as much as a phrase, and had to resort to writing on her palm, is what blows the mind.
