Measuring in wipes methinks. I use two squares per wipe. Probably have to wipe more than 3 times most of the time, I'd guess on average about 6 wipes maybe.

Perhaps I'll make a chart and keep records for a while and then figure out a true average.

Water

When water isn't available, I make 5 large pads each consisting of roughly ~40-50 squares [about 6 arm lengths]. The folded up pad is slightly less than the length of my hand and slightly more than its width, nice and thick. I semi-soak 3 in the sink before taking them in with me, the other 2 are dry. Start with the wet ones, the first one is at most 2 wipes, the second can be 2-4 and the third 2-4 again. [Need to flush in the middle else the toilet tends to clog.] Move on to the dry ones, basically just a paranoia thing as they never seem to catch much at that point.

Yes, my ass gets quite sore by the end of it. Hence why I try to time my defecation cycle so I don't have to shit at work =/

I usually use a belt-sander and grind it in the gaping crevasse until the big chunks stop being flung out. So the question is not exactly "number of wipes?" per se as it is more of "how long do I need to grind?"
