So I'm about to change careers yet again and was tallying up the number of jobs I've done and I find the number quite high.

17. Networking support/pc support (new job I'm starting in march)

So how many jobs have YOU been paid to do?

lol none actualy but it all began during my stint as a network admin for a school I worked for. I got the job in april 1999, and registered at this site December 17 1999 so I browsed this site daily from that job all the time. I remember you guys giving me a hard time for it back then lol.

I'm talking about jobs you were actualy paid an hourly wage to work. I excluded my college placement jobs.

loads of shitty jobs whilst at school/college/uni

2 real jobs post-education, both graphic design.

i started very young

so at least 20-25

all kinds good and shitty, easy and hard

met some good people and some shitty scum and many people who just dont give a uck.

During high school:
1. Target employee (sales floor, electronics, hardlines, etc)

During college:
2. Electrical "engineering" (built these things)
3. Research assistant (cholesterol metabolism)
4. Lab assistant for undergrad class (basic biology)

After college:
5. Preclinical junior scientist (asthma, graft-vs-host disease, oncogene discovery, cancer drug discovery)
6. Lab assistant for undergrad class (virology/microbial genetics)
7. Teaching assistant/grader for another undergrad class (immunology)
8. Grad student/cancer researcher (leukemia, immune system development)

I think those are all the one's I've been paid for.

High School:
McDonalds 2 years
Remodeling assistant 3 months
Workin at my dad's 8 months off and on

US Army:
Satellite Communications 7 years

Lockheed Martin:
Security Monitor, Warehouse assistant 1.5 years


I liked being unemployed the most though

5. Oilfield pipe inspection/pressure testing off and on for 5 years

I've done other work for cash so I don't really count that.

Started working in 1983 at 16 and been working ever since. Doesn't seem like 27 years and probably have at least that much more to go.

I think I started working in 94 or 95...

1. Worked for my dad's construction company during the summer when I was like 14/15
2. Bagged groceries at Krogers at 16
3. Target from 17-20. Started as cashier but moved into security.
3b. Made a couple websites for some companies
4. Development internship at Nationwide Financial from 20 to 22
5. Been a developer for The Service Pro since college

There are a lot of days that I miss being a dish dog and logging. Those jobs were brainless and fun as hell.

I kind of went from labourer/digger driver for my dads building company in the 90s to senior manager working across the middle east, africa and europe. mental.

i can remember getting paid £130 a week and thinking i was loaded, lol.

Janitor five years then had my own route until a few years ago now I'm retired
